In April 2010 the Government introduced a new financial incentive to support small-scale renewable energy generators. The aim was that the FIT structure should provide the right level of simplicity and certainty to encourage non-energy professionals to invest in small-scale generation. FITs were available for Solar PV and several other generation technologies. This scheme has now come to an end because the cost of installing solar PV has reached a level where the government has determined that a subsidy is not required in order for the technology to be viable.
Now that there are no grants or subsidies it is much simpler to understand how solar energy can benefit your business. Don’t be put off – the reason there are no longer any incentives is because you don’t need these to make a compelling business case to invest in the technology.
If you would like to understand how the numbers stack up, particularly if you are a high energy user, then give us a call. We will be more than happy to guide you through the process of installing solar and explain the financial paybacks for your business.
*Solar Voltaics cannot offer financial advice and it is strongly recommended that you consult an independent financial adviser if you have any questions regarding the potential financial returns of a Solar PV system.
