Milestones Museum Solar PV

Installation of a solar array at Milestones Museum of Living History is nearing completion.

The museum is home to over 20,000 objects that were either made or used in Hampshire, and is a record of the county’s social, industrial and transport history. The solar PV project, funded by the Salix Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS), will reduce the electrical demand of the site by over 140MWh and cut CO2 emissions by over 54 Tonnes per year.

The scope of work included:-

  • Feasibility surveys of existing electrical infrastructure and roof construction
  • 3D Design of solar array and full electrical design
  • Performance calculations including self-consumption and CO2 savings analysis
  • DNO grid connection application and management
  • Planning consultation and Prior Approval Application
  • Structural Assessments and Approvals
  • Full installation by our own in-house installtion team
  • Commissioning and witness testing by the local DNO 

 

Equipment installed comprised:-

  • 444 JA Solar panels
  • Schletter non-penetrative standing seam mounting system
  • 2 X Solis 80 KW 5G Inverters
  • Monitoring via GSM modem to cloud server
